…but lost the main topic at some point, so here is the new place to discuss the sounds we can find in German songs.
Thank you.
In this context: It would be nice if there was also a German or European “narfsound”. I can remember some German songs that require very special sounds (for example: “König von Deutschland”, “Ohne Dich”, “Abenteuerland (live)” oder “Männer”).
This one shouldn’t be too difficult to recreate. The brother of my German roommate sent us a cassette of this album (Der Ernst des Lebens) when it was released. Wore it out!
I once built a rackspace/sound for “Kristallnaach” from the band “BAP”
… at least for a combination of that bass sound plus e-piano. Could have some refinement for additional pads/strings in the verses though, but we considered it “good enough” for us.
Will upload it later on.
Above was BAP with “Kristallnacht”. This reminds me that I never found the perfect plugin for “Verdamp lang her”. For years I used a preset from the Yamaha EX-5, then a preset from the Korg Kronos, but now with GigPerformer and a lot of possibilities, I can’t find the optimal sound.
Ok, here we go… but i must confess, my “Verdamp lang her” sounds not at all like the original in the song, though it’s a nice e-piano sound nevertheless.
The plugins i used for this are the E-Piano module from Modartt Pianoteq 7, and for the bass the Jupiter 8 V from Arturia. The filter is controlled by a scriptlet.
It’s a combination of Modartt’s Pianoteq and Velvet from AIR-Music.
For the additionally i used some other plugins for tremolo, transient shaping, saturation, EQ and reverb. The second variation is used for the chorus and the louder parts of the song (a harder sound, which i didn’t record). Verdamp Lang.rackspace (359.1 KB)
