I tried to map the solo-buttons from a Kontakt multi to a GP-button but I didn’t find any controllers in the list. As far as I learned meanwhile, that I have to assign a free midi cc to the solo buttons inside Kontakt, then I should find that cc in the GP list. Ist that right or ist there an easier way to control the solo buttons of Kontakt?
Someone more knowledgeable than me can respond. But I recall David (developer) saying that GP can only control parameters that are exposed by the plugin. I do not know if that is relevant here.
But, I suppose I would ask why would you want to map a solo button in Kontakt? I tend to think you can accomplish the same thing easier within GP without using the Kontakt solo buttons.
How? There are noch controlers to be mapped within GP! This was exactly what I was asking for! Another solution would be, to open an instance for each part of the Kontakt multi and bypass it If not wanted
Correct - as you can see from the recording here, you can map a host parameter number to Kontakt function such as Tune or Volume (the PLUS appears as you hover over them) but not to Solo or Mute (the PLUS does not appear)
I think that is what I would do.
So you have something like this?
I would suggest that you not use MULTIs in GP. I create an instance of Kontakt for each VST. Then I can use GP controls like bypassing a specific instance or muting that specific VST in a mixer. I have used MULTIs where I wanted to layer multiple sounds. I would never want to solo or mute part of that sound.
If there is some reason you need to use a MULTI, you can add a button in GP that opens the pop-up editor for that Kontakt instance. This would give you access to those buttons.
Since Kontakt doesn’t expose those button to allow MIDI learn, you can’t even bypass GP to have a hardware widget control those.
