I got a notice about an update and went to the gig performer site to download, but was presented with “try a free trial” and a prompt to enter my name and email. I filled it out and got to my download but this process was strange/unintuitive given that I already own the software.
Could the update prompt be updated to show a direct link to the download page?
Go to the General Options and click Check for Updates.
As he said - if you do it from GP itself, it will take you directly to the right page.
I have to agree that it is confusing. I clicked Check For Updates, it sent me to a page of release notes where the only remotely reasonable button was Learn More … I didn’t really want to learn more, I wanted to install the new version, but I clicked it anyway, despite it sounding like it’s not what I really wanted. When I clicked that I got to a download page that said, among other things, “To make the most out of your 14 day free trial …” I’m not on a 14 day free trial. It sure made me think I had gotten to the wrong place. Twice. I had considered posting, myself, to verify I was going down the right path. (But I admit there appeared to be no other path to go down)
