This is different than another topic concerning starting GP4 in safe mode, but marked solved so I have created a new topic. If it should be in the original, please consider moving this.
I set the plugin manager to scan C and D drives for plugins rather than specific locations - I know, dumb idea and GP4 asked me twice if I really, really wanted to do that. It wasn’t that big of a deal while I was in GP BUT - when subsequently starting GP4 and it started scanning for plugins and testing them it started raising all kinds of exceptions and other errors. See the screenshot below as an one example of many different types. These halt GP loading until the error dialogs are answered/closed, and it has already been a lengthy time so I have no idea if this will crash GP or something else even if I wait it out.
So the question is in dumb cases like mine, it there a way to get GP to start without scanning for plugins (e.g. ignore previously set scan instructions in GP)? If not, how could I delete and reinstall GP without inheriting the plugin scan instructions from the previous install? And is it possible to still preserve my gig files if there is a way to do a clean reinstall?
