Can i merge two Rigs?

Ive got two keyboards, each is set up as its own rig in rig manager. One keyboard i use for gigs and home, the other for rehearsals only.
Very occasionally i forget to change over and wonder whats going on. Its no bother to change, i just forget.
I wonder if there is a way that i can combine both without having to go through and set one of them up again. I know i can have both keyboards active, but it looks like the other one needs me to go through all the assignments.
Yes, im just being lazy, but thought id ask.

I am probably the last person to try to field this one (although I use Rig Manager, I am not too expert on it).

That said, I think I am missing something.

Are there any different settings when using the two different keyboards?

If you only always use one keyboard at a time and you do not need to map different controllers, I would think you could use the same rig set up for both (?)

If they do have different controller settings I wonder if you can set it up additional controllers and some are not mapped for one keyboard but are mapped for the other (so some controller settings are there, but are ignored when not used by a particular keyboard).

On the other hand, maybe I am totally missing something…

Maybe i wasn’t clear.
What im after is using either of my Artuira keyboards from the one instance of Rig manager.
I don’t want to use them together doing different things, but when setting up widgets etc i use my Keylab MKII. I then want to make sure the settings work for the Keylab E3 as well. I’m just trying to not have to jump between rigs, and avoid having to manually set up the second keyboard in the first’s rig manager.
At the moment i have two rigs, one for each.
I’m definitely not looking for any workarounds, purely asking a specific question. If it’s a no then I’ll just do the programming g manually. It won’t take long. Everything is in place, i just need to link them all to the E3 ‘s controllers.

That reply probably took longer to type than to so what I’m asking lol. I’ll probably delete this question as I’m sure it will go a bit off track.

I wonder if this would work (wait until more knowledgeable people people pipe in before trying).

But, if you use 10 buttons and 10 sliders, you could create 10 controllers in Rig Manager.

Let’s say: 1b, 2b, 3b, 4b, etc. and 1s, 2s, 3s, etc.

Then if you associate each button and slider with the the controller numbers you want on one keyboard (using “learn midi” in the Rig Manager set up).

Then you do the same thing to map each controller where you want on the other keyboard.

When you are setting up a widget you should use the the cotnroller names you created: 1b, 2b, 3b, 4b, etc. and 1s, 2s, 3s, etc.

I would think that might work. But, I might have screwed something up or missed something. So, let’s see what others post.

Thats what im trying to avoid.
I know how to set it all up, but im hoping i could copy what ive done already from one rig to the other, almost like a cut and paste.

I use a KeyLab Mkll-88 in my home studio and for gigging. In GP’s Rig Manager I have a configuration setup called “KeyLab Mkll 88” in which I have all the controls set up with alias and each one is MIDI learned to the KeyLab.

For a lot of my rehearsals I use a Roland A-49. In the rig manager I duplicated the “KeyLab Mkll 88” rig and renamed it to “A49 to KeyLab Mkll 88”. Then, whatever controls I decided to use on the A-49 I learned them to the corresponding KeyLab aliases.

Now, whenever I open GP , all I have to do is open the RIg Manager, choose the appropriate Rig and apply it to my Gig in use. It’s quick and easy.

Creating the rig definition for a particular set of keyboards is a one-time event after which you just select the desired rig. It’s true that you can’t take “half” a rig (i.e, one configured keyboard) and merge it into another rig and so if one of your keyboards is different, you would duplicate an existing rig and then modify the keyboard in question and save that as a new rig. It’s deliberately a very quick process (it was designed with the requirement to be able to do it quickly during soundcheck) so it should not be much of an inconvenience.

Am I missing something?

It’s no big deal. I was just asking if it was possible.

Yep, that’s what i do as well, but that’s not what im asking about.
