Is there any way i can switch through plugins swiftly while muting other plugins in the same variation of a rackspace?
Like, instances of the same VST mapped to different midiblocks….i.e: horns, sax, flute, organ, strings, and switching through them within the same variation
Best practice is to filter Note On messages befor they arrive in the plugin
You assign one (or more) Button Widget(s) to a dedicated MIDI filters and toggle Note On filterings.
the button state is saved with the variation. And you can toggle the switches by MIDI. There are a lot of possibilities

You can create different variations and include a button widget for each plugin.
Then you place a MIDI Filter plugin before each plugin and map the filter Note On to a the differente button widgets.
Then in the different variations you set the button widgets as you want.

seems i’m still not getting this, i’m just dumb
this is what is working for me, but here’s the case, i want to be able to do all that in one variation because they’re are standard tones i’ll be using for most of my sets. i want to be able to mute all and leave one for a tone and be able to switch to the next tone in the same variation
ok, my bypass is on the dormant vst plugins
Understand, but why not use variations?
most of our songs here use lots of tones, and also some come in with call-and-respond. An intro to a song can be having three or four tones with different scripts following upclose
What do you mean by scripts?
my bad, scripts as in chords, solos, hits, bridges, etc

Would it be useful to have a menu option on a plugin that says (essentially) “bypass all other plugins in the rackspace?
With this menu option all other plugins would be bypassed when the current plugin is unbypassed?
And what to do with the other plugins?
Each plugin has to be enabled this new menu option, would work similar to widget groups?
exactly…..i would be able to use that exactly how i use my juno ds with my favorite tones in banks. just dial up on a button, youre good to go
But keep in mind that this way you cannot play a sound, hold the keys down, bypass to switch to another sound and the old sound keeps playing until you release the keys.
