I’m building my rack-spaces for my songs and medleys, I am using a rack-space per patch, everything seems to be going good, but reading allot in the forums, and wanted to know if there is a suggestion on which VST to use more than others, I don’t want to tax my system too much, and have a problem down the road or during a performance, I’m using a MacBook pro 48 gig of ram, through a RME UCX III interface, my collection consists of
Halion 7
Sampletank 4 MAX
Musiclab Guitars
Korg Collection
Arturia V collections
Overloud
Kontackt 15 Ultimate
They all seem to be working fine, except Musiclab, it’s weird, I’ll have a sound playing, and then within 30 seconds or so, the amp modeler will switch off, but it is still enabled, I click it on and off, and it will comeback again for awhile, then turn off again. I contacted Musiclab, and they said they can’t recreate it. ( gee Thanks ) So I now use a guitar sound from music lab, clean, and run it through Overloud.
That’s interesting — we have had (just) a couple of reports over the years of some bizarre conflict between Musiclab plugins and RME interfaces but only on Windows which seems to have only affected a couple of users. This is the first time we’re seeing a report of Musiclab and RME on Mac.
We are actually waiting for an RME interface (RME is kindly lending one to @dadi) so we can try and replicate the issue.
did you have a demo that may have left some “preferences” that caused issue?
Instead of a whole new rackspace for each patch, consider “variations”. That’s how I am able to transpose piano sounds for different songs or add in an octave lower note for the beginning of “Don’t Stop Believing”- all w the same rackspace.
