Bome Midi Translator Issue

Hi All,
I’m completely stumped by an issue trying to get GP a 2nd pc to receive translated midi messages. GP on Pc A is doing so completely fine and sending via virtual ports but for some reason, Pc B can only read from the hardware controller (not translated).
Been chatting with Steve at Bome and everything is good coming out of Bome Midi Translator Pro, can only deduce GP is reading it differently on Pc B for some reason, although everything (I believe) is exactly the same.
If anyone has any experience or insight into this, would be most grateful to hear from you.

So the breakdown is:
Ive got 9 virtual ports on BMT Pro on Pc A and als on PC B
Faderfox pc12 on PC A responds correctly, so when I do midi ‘learn’ in panels edit, it picks up which virtual port plus alias Ive selected from BMT Pro and controller/channel from Faderfox.
on Pc B, I am only able to receive Faderfox controller/channel in panels edit midi learn

What does it look like in Options >MIDI Ports on PC B?

Thanks edm
I need to select Faderfox, otherwise I’m unable to do midi learn in the panel edit, but other than that Ive only got Bome Midi Translator 1-9 (which Is what I want it to be picking up)

Many thanks
Jon

I guess I don’t understand. Can you give a more simple breakdown step by step of what you’re trying to do? Are you saying GP isn’t responding to messages that are supposedly coming in from BMT 3 and/or BMT 6?

Yep thats it, there’s no translation going on. On Pc A (which is working well)…

-Faderfox is being translated by BMT Pro sending out virtual ports and GP is picking this up as a virtual port (Bome Midi Translator 1-9)

All this is replicated on Pc B and is indeed showing in BMT Pro log window as being translated - the routing and everything in BMT Pro is correct, but GP cant pick up a translated message on Pc B - it just comes out as Faderfox not Bome Midi Translator 1, 2 etc
Many thanks
Jon

So you want Bome to translate the messages from Faderfox and send to GP via a BMT port?
If so, then you don’t want Faderfox selected as a MIDI port in GP.
I don’t understand how you can have Faderfox selected in GP at the same time as its being used in Bome. As far as I know, if a controller is open in one place, it can’t be used in another.

Yep I see that, only I’m unable to midi learn in panels edit, unless Faderfox is selected in midi in GP, nothing happens. I tried manually entering the details but it doesn’t pick up… Strangely though, on Pc A it works fine when Faderfox is selected (and outputs to virtual bmt ports).
Baffled
Cheers Jon

I’ve come to the (guessed) conclusion (in my limited knowledge) that its a windows issue with ports. Will find a workaround until hopefully I find out why. Thanks for the input though, cheers
