Just wondered if anyone has any experience of this plugin? I’m wanting to replicate a lot of the saxophone solos LIVE in a bunch of 80’s pop hits. Things like ‘When the going get’s tough’ by Billy Ocean (about 2:50 in). Can Big Growlin’ Sax be played to get anywhere near that sort of sound? Also I heard there may be a loading issue? Any info would be welcomed. Thanks.
I think the loading issue was from me.
I think it fits a niche for that growling’ sax sound. (As in most cases, the developers is more directing this toward recording. So, one of its main features, the smart delay feature to make the sax sound more real in a DAW, is not applicable to us.)
But, I think with the growl sound deployed and use of expression to control volume, it works pretty well. So far I have used it the (70’s) song I Love the Nightlife (Alicia Bridges) and the (80’s) song Take Me Home Tonight (Eddie Money).
In my case it takes very long to load, over 2 minutes. It happens when I load Kontakt stand alone too, so it is not related to Gig Performer.
I tried re-batch save and creating an exception for Windows Defender (even though it is disabled, anyway, I think), But I still get a long load time.
But, no one else has reported this, to my knowledge. So, maybe it is a quirk for my computers (?)(It happens in my main laptop and my (nearly duplicate) backup. So, go figure,

I use Chris Hein Horns in Kontact. I have purged some of the saxes and they load in only a few seconds. Sound good too.
I don’t know why it does this. It shouldn’t.
