InMusic hast finally updated the full BFD drum VSTi to Version 3.5.
The update includes VST3 support, a new authorisation mechanism and lots of other features.
And it is on sale for just 59,- for the core library. All expansions are 50% off as well. Highly recommended!
It’s a great instrument, just bought it. Nearly 50gb of content and the best traditional drum VST I’ve used. Thanks for the heads up.
You are very welcome!
For me as a BFD 3 owner the update is free, which is great. I bought some of the expansion packs, they are on sale as well.
I haven’t upgraded yet, because I was using BFD at a band rehearsal last night and didn’t want to risk any surprises. But I will do this weekend. Looking forward to the new sounds.
The new download and activation manager is really a step forward. The old mechanism was a pain.
Have fun with the library!
Are you sure?
I bought BFD 3.1 at a Plugin Boutique sale a few months ago, but haven’t installed and registered yet.
In comments to their release videos things seem a little bit unclear;
- Someone asking about update for version 3 is told to check their email.
- Another one asking for this is just told that 3.5 is on offer for $ 59 now.
Well, there are some hickups regarding the update.
I got an email with a direct download link to the new software (3.5), but the link (for Windows) led to the Mac version. Then, a day later, another email arrived with an updated windows download link. Unfortunately this led to the BFD Player software, not the full BFD one.
I then downloaded the new InMusic software center manually from their website and logged into my account. Then, in the software center app, all my apps and expansions were readily available for download and installation, including the BFD 3.5 update, free of charge.
But the BFD app showed up as BFD3, not 3.5. Only when clicking on the name a new window opened which showed the version: 3.5.
HTH
Thx!
As I mentioned, I haven’t installed version 3 yet.
I have registered my license.
In the BFD License Manager, BFD3 shows up in the top part.
In the bottom part, where you can download, this shows up;
BFD3 Software Installer 3.4.5
BFD3 Content Installer
Can’t find 3.5 anywhere.
Any ideas?
Have you got an InMusic account and registered BFD with them?
The old license manager does not work anymore with this update.
You have to download and install the new “InMusic Software Center” app. From within the app you have to log into your InMusic account by being redirected to their website. After the successful login, all your purchased and registered apps and expansions should appear in the Software Center.
When have you bought BFD 3.1? It originally belonged to fxpansion, but InMusic took over BFD a couple of years ago.
Bought it November 24, 2024 through Plugin Boutique.
Have got an inMusic account, and have registered through the old License Manager.
I can’t find where to download from the inMusic Software Center.
Found it
Rather confusing.
In my account it says;
Software downloads
BFD License Manager
Then, after clicking Downloads, you get to the Software Center Download.
Installing this and logging in it looks like it’s BFD 3 that’s activated. It’s not until you check it further you see it’s in fact 3.5.
Yes, the Software itself is absolutely great, but InMusic traditionally tries to regularly p. off customers with the downloading and activation process.
Glad, that you finally got it working.
InMusic now has released a support article with step-by-step instructions for the recommended download and installation process of BFD 3.5.
