Automatic stop at end of streaming audio file?

Hello all!

At present I’m using GP4 in a very simple way to play stereo backing tracks plus click track via the streaming audio players. Each song is just one rackspace. I have a foot controller set to start, stop, next song and previous song mapped to four buttons on the global rackspace.

Let’s say that song 1 is three minutes long and song 2 lasts four minutes. When song 1 finishes I press Stop, then Next Song, then Play. However, in the heat of battle on stage I am likely to forget to press Stop when song 1 ends, and as soon as I press Next Song I would immediately get song 2 playing from three minutes in.

What would be the best (simplest!) way to ensure that at the end of each song the next song would start from the beginning as if I had pressed the Stop button?

Many thanks!

Is the SAFP synced to the Global playhead?
Can you attach your gig file?

Yes, I’m using two SAFPs per rackspace (stereo track plus audio click) synced to the Global Playhead. Will attach gig file asap.

Found it!

Songs are (naturally) missing, so I created a quick example.

I quickly created two rackspaces with two songs. In the Global rackspace I had Start / Stop and all is synced to the Global playhead.

I cannot reproduce the issue on v4.8.2 (you are on v4.8.2, right?). The songs always start from the beginning when I switch rackspaces.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I’m on v4.8.2. The problem is only when the second song is longer than the first - it will immediately start part way through if Stop is not pressed before Next Song.

I was hoping there would be a way to send a message like a marker action at the end of each streaming audio file that would do the same thing as pressing the Stop button to avoid the second song triggering (and coming in part way through) if I accidentally press Next Song without first pressing Stop.

You can use the Rewind To The Beginning parameter to rewind the audio file to the beginning (look at the Streaming Audio File Player parameters).

Can you reproduce this?

Ah - I’ve just realised that I can insert a marker at the end of a SAFP on each song set to “Playhead off” which will do exactly what I need.
