My guitarist has just left the band so I have started to explore guitar tones (via keyboard). I am really enjoying the change but need to upgrade my sounds. Can anyone recommend what they feel is the most authentic sounding lead guitar plugins - if money was no object. (It is, but I’d like to aim high).
Prominy and Impact Soundworks are a couple to consider.
Thanks for the recommendations folks. Would I need to purchase a separate amp sim with those? For info, the kind of thing I’m writing currently is (all using Ableton and GP):
MusicLab — I use them myself in one of my bands. They have acoustic and electric models - they’re quite remarkable.
Also, there’s a discount if you are a GP customer (and no, we don’t get a kickback - this is so our users can trust our recommendations)
Check out Keytar Jeff using it
I’d never heard of MusicLab but am now a fan - they sound incredible. And Keytar Jeff - awesome! That Gary Moore tone from the PC Les Paul is something else.
Looks like a decent amp sim is also just as important as the electric itself. And I notice Guitar Rig Pro gets used quite a bit.
The latest version has effects built in, I don’t think it needs other effects any more
Thanks @dhj. I was just going to get the Strat and Les Paul electrics, but the bundle with all 6 of their guitars, with the GP discount, was just a little over 400 €, so I grabbed them all.
