Has anyone looked at Audiogridder - a free plugin host that’s really intended to distribute processing across multiple machines? Might be very cool to use with Gig Performer
A kind of Studiomux for distant MAC/PC. Interesting concept.
I’ve been testing this for the last few hours. Very promising indeed!
Does Audiogridder itself support Multi Core Processing?
Not sure if it does, but you can utilize multi-core processing by using both server and client on the same machine. In this way, you can use Audiograbber for particularly high-cpu plugins and get them off the core that GP is using for a nice load balancing trick.
If anyone has any experience with this and feels like writing a guest blog on how to use it with Gig Performer, that would be cool
Dumb question (sorry to hijack)(might show general lack of computer knowledge):
Is there any plugin you can connect to a another plugin within a rackspace and it will divert processing to a different core?
Is this AudioGridder related?
Well, saw a post about utilizing multiple cores and Audiogridder was mentioned. I didn’t know whether it can do what I am suggesting (I suspect no, but I figured I’d ask in an open way (if not audiogridder, something else?)
Ok, see here: [blog] How to offload the processing of audio plugins to remote computers using AudioGridder - #12 by edm11
And read the blog article.
