Audio stereo streaming of GP (+video/webcam)

just heard about this - i don’t know how well it works, but it looks interesting. requires chrome, desktop only, though. also they have a core audio driver that looks interesting, might compete with loopback or blackhole.

whoah - i just checked, the free driver is pretty featureless, the paid versions are expensive!

Thanks, but It seems to be Mac only (not really sure about that) and has no video.

yeah…i’ll just leave it here as “related, but probably not right for anyone we know”

Would you have a sample gig file doing this for me please ?

Does somebody have an experience of Jamkazam?

Quite a number of people are using LISTENTO from audiomovers - https://audiomovers.com. It can transmit 24 bit audio at near zero latency.

Here’s someone who uses it in a real world application - https://productionadvice.co.uk/remote-audio/

There is a charge but it is not a permanent subscription - just pay for a month’s use when you need it.

Does it have iOS and Android version ? Does it have video ?

It’s a plugin - VST/VST3 and AU. You can run it alongside a Zoom/Teams or Skype session. Ian Shepherd explains it well in the linked article and video. First heard about it on Sonic State where another mix engineer is using it for remote client mixing sessions.

Going to download the demo and use it this week for a session so will report back.

I appreciated the guy in this video, but this definitley not live performance-ready for me: near 100 ms latency for 7 Mbps uploading which is a regular internet connection for him, but mine is fifteen times less…

But it seems to be a really good and well suited plugin for remote tasks.

Hello, 2 years after, do know more about NEW good and economic music /audio LESSONS? THANKS FOR THE HELP

I finally used Skype, as it is what the piano teacher of my children requested

Thanks David, I’ll also
Hope the quality of sound is good and stereo

The sound quality is only correct and mono, but the piano teacher had only a smartphone available and was not open to more exotic solutions.

Maybe you should have closer look at “Jamulus”… this freee platform has been designed for online-live-jams, which actually can work quite well (if the internet connection is good → latency).

I managed to use it together with GP, though it was a bit tricky on Windows… the “Jack” virtual audio driver was the thing that finally made it work:

Maybe you want to give it a try…

EDIT:
Totally forgot that you needed video too! :grimacing: Jamulus is audio only… well maybe worth a look yet.

Yes, and as JamKazam, who has video but only a restricted free “plan”, it is not available for smartphone and tablets…

Perhaps some open source alternatives?

Thanks a lot for your tips, for the video side it’s possible with TeamViewer or discord, zoom…

I just discovered an iOS/iPadOS beta version of Jamulus on the AppStore.
