Audio player STOP command

Hi guys!
I am revisiting GP again. :sunglasses:

Quick question concerning the audio file player.

I need the file to stop two measures early the second time I trigger it.

I cannot seem to figure out how to assign a stop command using my controller.

Thank you in advance

I forgot to add that I need the file to return to the beginning when I stop it.

In GP 4, the Play is a toggle (Play/Stop)

In GP 5, coming soon, the Play is a toggle (Play/Pause) and there is a separate Stop parameter.

Thank you!

Any idea when that will be available?

Or is it possible to get a beta scripet available?

I am off for a few weeks till our next run and went down the GP rabbit hole again…this time all I’m missing is the media player function.

While we never promise (nor guarantee) simply because one never knows if a “got’cha” might happen, the expectation around the end of this month.

Cool
Anyway I just figured out a work around using the streaming player utilising the “momentary to latching” function. There’s hope yet for me and GP!

I once made a rackspace containing some scripting to tame the audio player a little bit… maybe that’s useful for you too:

Thank you

To achieve the desired effect of stopping the audio file player two measures early the second time it’s triggered, you have a couple of options. First, consider using automation within Gig Performer. Set up an automation lane for the stop command and adjust the timing to halt playback two measures ahead during the second playback instance. Alternatively, if your controller supports MIDI mapping, assign a MIDI control message to trigger the stop command at the appropriate moment in your performance. These methods provide flexibility in controlling playback timing directly from your setup.
