I am wondering what everyone is using. I am using iConnectivity MioXL as my midi connection to my computer. I connect standard midi cables and USB cables to it. I have a Mackie DL32R Mixer running Dante as my audio interface/mixer for the band. Both the iConnectivity MioXL and Mackie are connected to a network switch, via ethernet cable, which is connect to my MacStudio with an ethernet cable. My audio sample rate is 48000 Hz and the best audio buffer size I can get, without drops or pops, is 1056 samples (22.0 ms).
I am wondering if this is the best approach? I do like plugging directly into the mixer with an ethernet cable. I like routing my midi controllers in and through the iConnectivity Auracle for X-Series software.
I like to hear what everyone else is doing.
Hm, 22ms feels a little bit high. How does this sum up?
Personally, I go a different way: my band is using a Ui24R as mixer on stage which I feed with GP directly from USB (the mixer is aggregated with my Scarlett 8i6 as analog backup). The Ui24R is located close to my rig on stage/rehearsal room and the connection is stable.
I have to look up the latency, but I’m tight with the band
I rember something around 5 ms @48 kHz
Other pro: I avoid one additonal DA and AD conversion and the related gain matching…

I am using RME UFX II with 192 Samples Buffer and 4ms latency without an issue.
When you have to use 1056 Samples buffer then something is wrong.

Hi , interesting my classic rock cover band is also using the UI24R, we’re pretty new to it and not super technical , like hammers instead of scalpels , yes it’s pretty Dante(ing) , sorry . I wonder if you have a midi input workaround for the UI24R ,afaik there is no midi input , DIN or USB, and sorry to hijack this thread
, but do you also use the web UI to mix or I have heard using Mixstation app is another popular
solution…
We haven’t had a live gig with the UI24R yet and we are just getting our heads around implementing a router for network connectivity . Also just discovered that the view groups could be used to tailor a users preference for faders , in that they could reduce the amount of scrolling to find channels to mix .
Another burning question is do use leverage browser tabs for other scenes or views to reduce how much menu jumping you might need to do ? Thanks !!
Short OT: we use the web UI for main mix on a dedicated tablet, but also personal monitor mixing with personal tablets for each bandmate. Our mix is quite static, so no need for MIDI controlled or automated changes
Mixing Station is one solution for MIDI controlling the Ui24R, the other I would look deeper into is Ui MIDI from https://www.beseda.us/

PS, external WiFi…
