Audio File Speed in a wrong tempo

Hi, I created a set up where I can manipulate the global bpm to synch any audio file with it. The idea is to play any audio as a backing track in a live set up but to be able to adjust it to the band rather than forcing the band to follow a click. However - I imported two audio files to the stream player, each in an individual rack. In case of one audio file GP detects the correct tempo. Thus if I tap to adjust the global tempo I can easily sync the backing track to the band - as that is the idea. The other audio, exact same configuration - suddenly is indicated with almost double speed, 175 instead of (correct) 89 bpm. If I tap the song tempo now, it slows down significantly. How does GP detect the speed and why it’s so different from file to file? And finally - how can I correct it.

…just to add: I tested the SAFP’s ability to detect the bpm of a pure click track and its awful. The click track was generated with 90 bpm but GP shows 142 bpm. That’s definitely a bug that should be fixed.

For that feature some other library has been used that seems to inaccurately capture the tempo. That number currently can’t be changed.

Thanks for the info. Will that be fixed some day in the near future?

Lots of things are planned, but can’t reveal anything as a matter of policy. Sorry.

No further news yet? For a live tool that should be essential.

I am using files where I know the BPM.
I do not need the BPM calculated by GP.

I know the bpm. The issue is that the Streaming Audio File Player does not detect the correct bpm. I have 74 bpm audio file I generated from a self-made MIDI-file (thus I selected the bpm) The Audio Player indicates that as as 101 bpm. It has the consquences that I cannot adjust the speed by an external source such as a drummer.

If you have a set BPM for the file, then its your drummer that needs to play to a click track for that BPM.
Speed management is really for practice only. When using tracks with defined BPM, the rest of the band has to follow that tempo. Relying on real-time software beat detection in a live scenario is not wise. IMO a click track for the drummer is the way to go.
