If there are problems - maybe it helps … https://macos-tahoe.com/blog/macos-tahoe-audio-complete-guide-2025/ … after updating on my machine, the Aggregate Devices didn’t work - must be created new - and up from now, if an interface is not connected - GP will create virtual ports and so on … this is new.
GP creates virtual audio channels when the actual used interface does not provide enough channels, and this is not new.
Or do I miss something?
Is this a regular Tahoe update? Or you recently upgraded from Sequoia to Tahoe?
At Sequodia - if you use Aggregate Devices - they must not be available in real (if you use the real interface - it’s as @pianopaul say) … no message commes there. But now in Tahoe - there it is!
@npudar: Yes - I dit a upgrade from Sequodia, and after this - I must create my Aggregate Devices new because the interfaces are found as new devices …
Interesting — an older version of macOS broke aggregate devices - I ran into this some years ago. Has it now happened again?
@pianopaul - SORRY, YOU ARE RIGHT …. at my old aggregate device (found an old screenshot …) there I had the 16ch Blackhole added, so never I had the virtual port problem … Now, when I add the Blackhole, GP starts as always now without creating or asking about virtual in/output ports. I think - this is a good workaround for everyone to work without the messages about virtual ports.
But the main idea of this post was to see if the link helps anyone with audio problems. Thank you!
