Anyway to add a new VST3 to GP without scanning?

I have quite a few plugins disabled in plugin manager. All Au and VST are hidden, as I only use VST3.
Whenever I get a new plugin it seems I have to do the full scan again, and then hide the above again.
Just wondering if it’s possible to just add a new one without a scan.

There’s no single-file scan in GP like that.
If you disable the AU and VST instead of removing from the list, they won’t re-enable.
Or, you could remove the scan folder references to the AU and VST altogether, and then they won’t be scanned at all.

Thanks. I’ll give disabling them a go. I guess that will save a bit of time.
I sort of keep the Au’s handy just in case I have an issue with the VST3 version, but I dont think Ive ever needed to change over.

You can re-enable an individual AU plugin if you find the VST3 not working properly for you.

Ah cool.
Im not near my computer at the moment, ill try tonight, but if I disable the plugins in the manager, do they disappear from replace plugin menu? im just trying to keep this list down so I dont have duplicates or more.

Yes, when disabled they won’t appear in the useable lists, only in the Plugin Manager.

Why can you not just scan for updated plugins? That’s one of the options

Thanks for the tips. Thats close enough. I just added one in and it scanned really quickly.
My issue before was that i wasn’t disabling them, just hiding them, so they were all coming back.
