Anyone use Global for your Guitar Effects

Just wondering if its even a thing to use the Global racks to have your Guitar effects ?

I guess im thinking that if I had a few amp racks and instead of adding stomp box effects in each one and setting up midi control for them in each, I could just have them all set up in one rack.

is this even a thing?

I’m a keyboard player.

But, I “think” that is one of the primary intended uses for the Global Rackspace.

I do it here and there but not that much really.

It would really depend on what my guitar Rackspaces are designed. I use Th-U and Guitar Architect (Melda) for my amp sims, and both of those have a lot of fx included so there’s really no perceptible increase in loading time or memory using those effects within each rackspace.

I suppose if I were using something like Neural Amp Modeler for most of my amp sims it might make sense and simplify things a little just to put my commonly used effects in the global rackspace. In generally I don’t, though, because if I want to use a different drive pedal or a different reverb it really uses negligible additional resources just to put them in the regular rackspaces.

Either way is fine in my opinion.

I have some minor post processing in the global rackspace: a last resort limiter, an automatic gain control and a reverb (for a little ambiance).

I use NAM and I only put my amp and cab in the local RS and all effects in the global. Both pre (wah, compressor etc) and post (modulation, delay, reverb etc). I have different variations for clean, boost, crunch and lead that change the delay and reverb presets accordingly.
