In my ongoing searching for the NDSP X Latency “thing” I sleep-deprived-stumbled across this post at The Gear Forum here where the user showed / proved that the NDSP X Plugins actually have 0 Samples and 0 ms Latency
So I now have set up 8 x Racks using different Presets of the same NDSP Plugin.
On thing I have found is that the NDSP X Plugin Delay and Reverb Pedals are fantastic so am using them in all my Presets in my Racks.
However:-
→ there is no Delay Tail or Reverb Tail Spillover from Rack to Rack when switching via Midi FSW ?
and
→ there is a small but quite noticeable gap of silence when switching from Rack to Rack ?
I am using Predictive Loading and each Rack is %100 identical with the only difference being a different NDSP X Plugin Preset for each Rack.
Is there a known “fix” or “workaround” to address these 2 issues ?
Input Muting controls how long the input signal will continue in rackspace A when switching to rackspace B.
Output Fading controls the fade length of the sound from rackspace A when switching to rackspace B. This is the one that is relevant to delay/reverb tails. Setting it to zero will result in no tails (as you discovered).
I tested an Neural DSP X plugin and the tails of the delay and Reverb worked just fine when switching between rackspaces when the Output Fading was set above 0.
2.5 to 3 seconds is generally what I use, though in rackspaces with longer delays you might want a longer fade time.
When I tested the Neural DSP plugin in two rackspaces, there was no ‘silence gap’ when switching between them. Which plugin are you using and how are you switching your rackspaces?
Actually just to clarify … the “silence gap” in Switching is %99.99 gone
However … there is no Delay Spillover ? going from a Guitar Solo Rack which has delay in its Preset to a Guitar Rhythm Track which has no Delay in its Preset ?
