Hello GP community
How Do relink a 2nd instance of Gig Performer with the first?
I spent a could deal of time working on the 2nd instance gig file so hopefully there is a way to do this that does’t require me to recreate a new instance from scratch and import the rackspaces.
My primary Gig File is Korg Kronos 48000 default.gig
My 2nd instance is Roland RD-88.gig and it’s still listed in the root of My Documents on my Mac and it opens file as a stand alone file,
For some reason now when I click on the Open Roland RD-88 instance within my Primary Gig File it reopens my Primary Gig file instead of the Roland RD-88 instance.
Is there a way I can relink them so they may both be opened again?
If I understand you well, the issue is that the second instance opens the wrong gigfile?
The only way which instances ‘remember’ the gigfile to open, is by reopening the last used gigfile. So just open in each instance the appropriate gigfile and you should be fine.
There’s no such concept of ‘linking’ between instances (except for the possibility of linking the speed of gp-instance, possibly also with Abelton live).
Hi Frank, Thank you for responding.
I’m not sure what exactly happened but when I run to gig file simultaneously, so even though the instance under the file menu showed the correct file it was not opening the correct file.
I reached out to the Community thinking there might be a each way to reassociate the original primary gig file to open the correct second instance from the file menu, but I’m not sure how it became disassociated much less how I would resolve that issue.
What I ended up doing was exporting the rackspaces out from both gig files and creating a new gig file from scratch to import the primary rack spaces back into, and then opened a second instance gig file and did the same.
Neither file had a Global Rackspace so it took less time than I expected to redo.
Problem resolved.
