2 mac's, same iCloud Drive audiostreamer error "Missing file" on 2nd Mac"

Hi,

I have installed Gig Performer on two different Macs—one at home and one in a flight case for live use. Both Macs share the same iCloud ID and the same iCloud Drive, where the backing tracks are stored. These tracks are used in the audio streamer of Gig Performer.

The problem is that when I load the Gig on the second Mac, it doesn’t recognize the location of the backing tracks. Instead, it shows a “Missing” message.

Is there a way to manually point to the correct location on the second Mac? I want to use iCloud Drive as the central storage location so I can run Gig Performer from both Macs. Additionally, I have set markers for each track in the audio streamer, so I only need to configure this once.

When you go into the Finder Window, are the file paths to the audio files identical on both machines?

Are the files already downloaded on the failing mac? (when you look into the finder location no cloud symbol with a down arrow should be visible, only a cloud!)

Hi Paul,

I checked the paths and they looked the same like /iCloud Drive/Backingstracks/Alone.wav

But then i saw in the Log window the whole path with the user like /Macintosch HD/Users/User/iCloud Drive/Backingstracks/Alone.wav

There was the problem, i created an account on the second mac with the name of the band, so the path was then/Macintosch HD/Users/Bandname/iCloud Drive/Backingstracks/Alone.wav

I deleted the Band username and created a new one with the same username as on the other Mac, now the problem is solved.

Thank you.

Grtz. Björn

I’m using the iCloud the same way. My MacBook and Mini have the same name also
