Hi everyone!!
I’ve been using GP for 4 years now, since GP3. This weekend I upgraded from GP4 to GP5 and encountered an odd application error. I’m hoping someone has encountered this too and can help me solve it. I have attached a screen capture of the error message stating the application was unable to start correctly and provided error code 0xc000007b.
Here’s the nuts and bolts info:
Windows 10 Pro on a custom computer
GP 3 & 4 ran on this same computer without an issue.
This is my primary recording computer, using UA Apollo 8x and running Cubase 14 Pro.
There is no virus software, malware software, etc. of any kind on this computer.
GP support feels, as do I, that’s it’s probably some kind .dll conflict causing the problem.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated!!
What happens if you run GP with administration privileges? Did you install it with admin privileges?
Does GP4 still run properly on that machine?
Googling the 0xc000007b error suggests a system-related issue.
One solution is here: answers.microsoft.com
It must have been due to system libraries mismatch/conflict (Visual C++ or other).
Maybe…but that is why I wanted to know if GP4 still runs on that machine. Nothing has changed in GP5 that would have different system dependencies than GP4
Installation update for everyone. First, thank you for the prompt and useful input, I appreciate all of you commenting on this.
I opened GP4 this morning and it works fine.
I uninstalled both GP4 & 5 entirely.
Rebooted the computer and installed GP4. It works fine.
Rebooted again and installed GP5.
Now it loads immediately and works fine!!
I don’t know where the glitch was occuring but both versions appear to be working without any issues now.
Again, my thanks to everyone for their help on this.
All the best!!
John
I negleted to say that when I attempted to run GP5 this morning, it was still failing.
That is what prompted me to uninstall both versions.
Sorry!!
Great! Enjoy Gig Performer
