Strange "Out of Tune" during performance

Heat is the enemy of live performers in every sense.

Well, all I know is that while I was in the shade, everything was fine. Then, after the sun came around and the SP 8 heated up, things (some, not all) went a bit haywire. My sports umbrella arrived today, so this situation will never arise again.

I used to run software that did that. But, I was never certain about what effect it had on the PC. I haven’t bothered to install the software for a while now. So I’m still unsure about any benefits.
Can someone explain for me whether to, or whether not to install appropriate software. Or whether it is an automatic process.

Windows parks and unparks cores at will. I’ve checked both configs:

  • parking enabled
  • parking disabled

I didn’t find any benefit in disabling parking.

So if your current setup works good and you’re happy with: don’t fix it. There are utilities (parkcontrol) and other ways to disable parking (mentioned in the very helpful performance tuning guide of GP), but I wouldn’t use these as long as I don’t need it, because all this kind of tweaking might destabilize your system in unexpected ways.

BTW: my experience is with Windows 11 22H2 and the scheduler of Windows 11 is in this respect better than that of Windows 10. So if you’re using Windows 10 there might be benefit, but I can’t check that.

I’m with Windows 11, and getting very good performance without any tweaking at all.

There were some experiences from other forums, where this setting did the trick.
