These sort of threads always cost me money. I was happy with the many, many electric pianos in Zenology, Haling and Artuira collection X. Why on earth would I need another, I only use about 5 rack spaces with them in…and then I tried Lounge lizard over the weekend.
I can’t tell if its more realistic than all the others, it probable isn’t, but I felt i could get all the sounds im already using from it, and I knew what I was doing. It just seemed so well laid out that I could easily get what I was already using, and tweak until I got what I really wanted but never quite got these with the others.
I find the Zencore ones great, but not the easiest to edit.
The Halion ones are sampled, and not as adjustable. Better of a couple of songs though.
The artuira ones are in between. Very editable but lacking something.
I was aware of this plugin from years ago, I think I had a very basic version that came with something else, but it’s never been one I would consider until now as I rarely used E-pianos until recently. Now I might use them a bit more.
Hopefully no one will start talking about anything else i don’t need
Really impressed with Lounge Lizard though. Hopefully i can replace all the Zencore and Halion E-Pianos now,
No - in my Steely Dan band where I’m doing my best to emulate Fagen’s sound, I’ve found that the TH-U phaser gives a much deeper and accurate result — Fagen himself was using the famed orange MXR Phase 9
We have a partnership agreement with Overloud so you would get a 10% discount (we don’t get any kickback so we’re not trying to make money from such things)
Thanks. It’s not so much the money, it’s just that i have so many effects already built in to plugins, plus a few dedicated effects VST’s that I rarely need to use, that it would just go to waste
These days I also use Lounge Lizard for all my Rhodes and Wurly live work, but I used Soniccouture’s Canterbury Suitcase for quite a while. I tested it
again the other day and found myself thinking “damn, now thats a great sounding rhodes plugin”
