Newbie - GP5, VSTs and Midi Controller for Live Gig Performance Rig

How? These things can’t be upgraded.

You get Analog lab V free with the controller (I assume you mean you have the Essential version?). I had the Essential MK3 for a week or so but ended up getting the much, much heavier Keylab MKII 61.
You can definitely tweak all the presets although you can’t deep dive and do sound creation. You can play with the effects and even layer sounds within Analog Lab if you want to.
Ive just entered this world and I find the Arturia stuff, along with Roland Cloud offerers me so much that its taking me longer than I thought to decide on sounds.

Windows laptops are cheaper, and you may be able to upgrade mem and storage yourself. Although I have MBP with 32gb mem and 1tb storage. I still use an external 1tb ssd for more samples. I’m in a similar band, and will always have a 2nd 61-note controller with 9 sliders for my B-3 addiction, using IK Multimedia’s B-3X vst played with a Nektar controller. FWIW, I used mainstage for several years and I deeply regret the time I spent banging my head against the wall with its rigidity and crashiness. GP5 rules the stage!
