Mapping controls to non-MIDI assignable plugin parameters

Has this query been updated since 3 years ago? I’m using Cherry Audio Blue3 and I have a few presets that I would like to recall within a rackspace via variations but I just cannot figure out how to select a different preset.

My initial idea was to use a knob widget to change the preset but I haven’t a clue how to assign the parameter to the knob. Google has cleared anything either… maybe someone around here?

This post has a script by @pianopaul, followed by a script by @dhj. Both will change a GP Preset when you change variations.
