I reached the 16Gb limits of my older NUC PC, it is not dependent from the PC, but from the RAM needed by my current gig fileā€¦

I am using a MacBookPro with M1. It seems that in that architecture memory management is much better. It seemsā€¦

What do you do to protect these expensive computers between sound check and concert?

I have played with an cheap gamercomputer until now. I dont take it off stage cause it needs to reboot to connect to my UA Soundcard. Maybe its different with MacBook pro?
Or I could buy a lock mechanism like they have in stores?

I play a lot of jazz concerts in churches.
Everybody can get to our gear if they want

Can you plug keyboard and soundcard in and play right away? When we get on stage in have to be ready very fast. Thats not possible with my pc laptop but maybe it Will be with a MacBook pro?

Youā€™d be surprised. I work in the live touring industry with some very big names. Things sometimes walk away.
