My big gig file takes a longer time to load than most. But even with that, I can usually start the computer loading and then use that time while it’s loading to finish up other parts of my set up (set up my tablet, tape down my sustain pedals, etc.). So, it usually does not delay my set up.

Hey guys, pianopaul, great news! I enabled the “thru” flag on my widgets (aftertouch, mod wheel) instead of reinjecting them via MIDI loopback, and after 20 minutes of testing, with predictive loading ON, in setlist mode, and with transpose active on some songs, Gig Performer didn’t freeze!
I have a rehearsal on Thursday and a concert on Saturday, so that’ll be the real test. Thanks a lot so far! On Sunday I’ll come back to this post to give the final verdict and mark this suggestion as the correct solution.
