With OSC and options set in the OSC options this is automatically supported. OSC The OSC tab appears when the OSC Setup... menu item is chosen in the Options menu.

Thanks all. Following all this I got inspired by the GP Selector Extension that @edm11 shared… and I created GP Remote selector which allows pretty much what I expected.
