Crash Live on Wedding Rehearsal!

@npudar Will do the next time.

From 27th.

@dadi The one that crashed big was on the 25th. But I can only find the txt files. I was not online. On that day spitfire’s plugin might had been loaded but I was not using it on any racks.

Yeah, plugin licensing is a crapshoot….some will allow it to be licensed in the host but others require some standalone tool to be run first.

Please check for zip files in the following folder:
C:\Users\filip\AppData\Local\GPErrorHandler\UnsentCrashReports\Gig Performer 5_5.1.4\

There is not much to do with the txt files.

@Fsilvanoa

Did you try to remove the BBC Symphony Orchestra plugin and see if it still crashes?

Hey @Dadi @npudar It seems something happened with my previous messages @dhj …. anyway. I’ll upload again. The problem with Spitfire is gone. Last monday I had another problem running another VST (maybe keyscape?). But that time i managed to get the zip file. Pls see it attached @Dadi .

It wasn’t deliberate, I promise :innocent:I
I had to restore from the previous night’s backup and so a few new posts got lost.

Thank you for this.

I inspected the crash dump you sent, it looks like memory is garbled for some reason.

Looking at the list of modules loaded into memory, good chances that one of the following is the root cause:

  1. You are mixing Arturia plugins of both VST and VST3, please align to only one of those (check Window→Plugins In Use…).
  2. I found Steinberg activation license manager loaded, maybe it has an impact. Is your license valid?
  3. Windows Defender is injected into GP, good practice is to try and disable it to see if the issue is gone or not.

Hmmm, I don’t know about other stuff but we do know that AVs can produce all sorts of crashes in applications like GP

Im sure it wasn’t! Yesterday I was getting 502 error on the forum. I imagined something has happened! But no problems!

Thank you a lot for your inputs!

I will double check on those issues as soon as I get home. Windows update was surely paused. Not so sure about windows defender.

One thing I do for sure is mixing VST and VST3. I’ll fix it as soon as I get home.

Tonight I’ll have another gig. I will keep you posted.

Mixing VST and VST3 for the same plugin - can cause issues when the developer of such plugin has some “global” stuff going on. Mixing the formats for unrelated plugins (i.e, from different developers) is unlikely to be an issue

We have a blog article. TL;DR: Don’t do that!
