Converting system exclusive to control change

Thanks, Steve.

I actually purchased BMTP and got V-Stage drawbars converted to midi cc using your nice and informative video. – Had to come up with this Rule to work with this particular sysex variety. There is probably a better one. — qq=qq*15

Unfortunately, on 2 different Macs, with or without Bome running, in GP or MainStage, using RME UFX ii or V-Stage interface, after raising buffer size and with any VST, the Roland sysex from V-Stage is causing notes to delay and hang badly when playing while moving drawbars. It’s a longer sysex strand of hex pairs than I’ve seen coming from other Rolands. I’m not sure why it’s happening but it’s been a headache and I’m giving up for now.

I’ve emailed Roland asking for firmware update that adds midi cc functionality. It would be a big surprise if they do that but maybe.. I’ve also taken a look at your BomeBox, and might try v2 when it’s available. I imagine that will send just midi cc to GP after converting the Roland sysex. I’ll find a use for BMTP with other keyboards so am glad to have it around.

Hmm, sound like there might be note sent interspersed with the SysEx which could be a problem. Maybe the original SysEX is going through a MIDI thru path which, so adding note translators and deleting the MIDI thru path might help. I would find it highly unlikey that Roland develops new firmware, They are more likely to just analyze the problem and then incorpate a fix into a new product.
