[blog] How to find out which plugin crashed Gig Performer

Korg Triton Plugin v1.4.3

Symptom: If you select a Combination preset, save the project, and then reload it, the Combination no longer sounds the same as before.
Example: “BeeG Pad2 Bright” — the sounds are (among other things) detuned within themselves.

Hosts tested: Tested with VST2 and VST3 in Gig Performer and Cubase.

Note: The version v1.4.1 was not affected with this bug. Korg was quick to respond acknowledging the issue.

.

Fix: The developer fixed the bug in v1.4.5.

From the release notes.

  • v1.4.5 (2026-03-03): Fixed an issue related to saving and loading REALTIME CONTROLS parameters and resolved an issue where the browser would close unexpectedly [5.5].

Unusual KORG dependency

.

From KORG help center:

The AU (Audio Unit), VST3, and AAX versions of these KORG Collection plug-ins require that the VST 2.0 version be installed

"If the VST 2.0 version isn’t in the expected location–for example, if you’ve removed it manually–the plug-in will not validate or launch properly. "
