Where do widget MIDI SYNC messages go

When a Widget’s MIDI config is set with SYNC enabled, where does that message go?

My understanding, and experience, is SYNC will send a MIDI message OUT when the widget is clicked. The message will be the same as the message it’s assigned to listen to, the IN message.

I was playing with this and it works - my MIDI Captain running MIDI Captain MAX firmware responds instantly to clicks in GP. But I don’t see the messages on any of my MIDI Monitors, regardless of what output i monitor.

How can I monitor the MIDI coming out of GP from these SYNC widgets?

In the Global MIDI Monitor Window check “MIDI Out”.
Then Move your widget and you should see outgoing MIDI messages.

IAC connections are only half a MIDI cable so when you move the widget the message goes back to the input of the widget. If you need a MIDI out you will need to create a second IAC connection and use Associate MIDI output device in Rig Manager
