Transpose is freaking out - Pianoteq

Hey guys, I need some help with this one. I am setting up for a show for a tribute artist. Everything is done. All the rack spaces are good. I do use pianoteq 9. I love it. But being a model and working in real time it can be a little CPU heavy. So I was rehearsing going through the tunes. I noticed on one of the songs I had some spikes on my CPU. So I jumped online and did a few tricks that they were suggesting as far as turning Bluetooth off, Wi-Fi off, turning all things that I’m not using off. I tried my best to follow what they were talking about. Then I saw something about having predictive loading capabilities. Our shows are pretty well set in stone so I figured even a small number like three would be fine. Everything worked OK I could switch back back-and-forth to my different rack spaces. No issue. Except now when I played the keyboard, it was two or three octaves too high. Not just on one Rackspace but global. And when I try to adjust it and get it correct the keyboard is not playing in the correct range I’m losing four notes up on the top end. It goes up to as far as a G8. I’m not sure what’s going on. I turned the predictive loading Off. Still didn’t help what have I got on and off that I am not aware of to get it back to where it’s supposed to be. Help help help. Everything looks OK scaling is OK. However, my split isn’t OK because the high split the highest I can get it to read as G8. Also if you do have some step-by-step tricks that I can do to my computer that would certainly be helpful. I’m using a Mac M1 Pro. Thanks in advance.lanny

I’ve never heard of a transpose issue like that before but before going down the predictive loading path (which will not really help with CPU, it is more of a RAM saving thing so unless you’re actually running out of RAM, I wouldn’t go there yet, I don’t find Pianoteq to be particularly CPU intensive either, even on my old 2018 Intel Mac.

I’m wondering what sample rate and buffer size you’re using and also what audio interface you’re using.

I’m at 512 and 44.1 Using RME Babyface 24.So weird. If my midi block is set at 0 transpose and my S88 MK3 is 0 My key range is totally off. Including the split Low is C-2 and upper is at G8. Those are the boundaries. My C3 is at C5. Shows correct on the screen but not sound wise.

Can you see what happens with a different controller to Rule that out?

Is your Global transpose in GP set to 0?

Is the Notes Transposition inside Pianoteq set to 0?

Same on s88 and key lab 61

Okay, check out edm11’s suggestions.

edm11. You are the man. I searched all over to check for the transpose and couldn’t see it. I never use Global. It was indeed not correct. THANK YOU EVERYBODY!!!
