Stuck loading a Waves live tune instance

Last night, at a show, gp failed to complete loading a session, it got stuck loading a waves live tune instance. Tried closing, reloading, reboot computer, nothing worked.

Didn’t have time to troubleshoot, so put a sdd image back and everything worked again, no problems. I do that because it seems to be the fastest way to get out of trouble, in 5 minutes I was playing, and it worked flawless for the reminder of the night (6 hours).

I don’t know what caused it, a day before everything worked, finished the gig, shut down windows and then, yesterday it started loading my session (I set it to autoload it) and got stuck during loading

Any chance that plugin was trying to connect to a remote server?

Nope, that pc only saw internet when I installed everything and activated, after that it’s off grid. I don’t recall waves plugins ever nagging me about internet connection. And I’ve been using it for a few months now

Waves calls its own local server that isn’t internet-dependent (WavesLocalServer.exe) when a plugin attempts to load, and when that fails the plugin won’t load. I’m not saying that’s the issue, but its a place to start.

So, is there a way to skip the loading of one faulty element and just load the rest? Cause maybe I can bypass said plugin and make it work afterwards. Something like if loading a plugin for more than 60s and still not done, a “bypass faulty plugin” button appears and we can still have that session working?

You can start a blank gig, then disable the plugin in the Plugin Manager. Your main gig file can then be loaded.

Have you tried reporting this to Waves support?
This is definitely a case for them to inspect.

Note that Waves do support Gig Performer.

No, I haven’t, because I did a image restore, I have no proof, and it never happened before or since

At least you can describe this to them, maybe they can suggest something.

If (hopefully not!) it happens again, I’ll try to get some proof and definitely do something about it as it was a bit stressful, but I’m at least having the peace of mind that in case of a whoopsie, a image restore works like a charm.

Great that you had a backup plan - and it worked! :flexed_biceps:

Knowing it works in the heat of battle is a definite plus!
