If I change the widgets from a existing song part, I would like to save the new settings in a different song part. To my knowledge, this feature is missing in the song modes. It is only possible to overwrite the current song part, but then I lose the old settings, and that’s not what I want. Is it possible to add this feature in a future update of Gigperformer?
What if you duplicated the song part before you saved the change (capture to variation). Would that help? Then you’d have both versions.

Yes, with copy and paste actions you can work around my problem. However, creating new song parts is often an intuitive process where you quickly want to save multiple ideas without overwriting anything. The lack of a “save to …” button is a barrier in this process. Strange that apparently not many Gigperformer users run into this, because I asked this same question on this forum two years ago!!
And… compare it to a word processor; you wouldn’t want to miss your “save to …” there either, would you? Just imagine!
I hope the creators of Gigperformer keep thinking about intuitiveness and just build these kinds of logical functions in…
