Slate plugins and Rig Manager questions

Hey everyone. Hope all is well. Not very computer savvy, so I’m trying to wrap my head aound this. As a side note, I just received the new Studiologic SL88 GT with TP/400W action. Wow. Incredible action.Replacing a 1 month old Keylab 88 MK3 cause I already have a keylab 61 MK3. I digress. At home I’m constructing rack spaces for shows that I’m doing. All via the SL88 and KL61. When I go to rehearsal I just use an existing piano (Yamaha MX88) and a Roland VK30.. I only use the keys for input. All Volume changes are done thru a Berhinger X Touch with Motorized faders. When GP see a new keyboard and you choose that new keyboard, a balloon pops up asking if you want to change all rack spaces to this midi keyboard. So my question on this subject…Can I take my laptop, Xtouch; hook it to the MX88 at rehearsal and say yes to the change and it will change all my rackspaces to the MX? And reverse it when I’m back home?

Question 2. Is anyone familiar with or use Slate Digital products? I have a subscription I’ve maitained for quite sometime on my PC where I record using Slate and Presonus Studio One. I use a dongle ILOK ( Slate )on the PC. I would love to be able to use some of the features from both. But when I’m performing, I’m not hooked up to the internet. They say it can be done. Just don’t know how. Thanks in advance. Lanny

I think now you can license the slate plugins to a machine.
But only 1 at a time.
But why not just use the Ilok, so just put it into the other machine and you are ready to go

For your 1st question, I am using rig manager and use different keyboards for rehearsal and live.
Just switch the rack and ready to go.

I think the main developer of GP has noted that this is really a legacy tool. Instead you should set up the Rig Manager use that. Much better.

Jeff

Thanks for the input. Now for some experimenting. Best to all
