Route my Ableton Click to the Audio IN of SPD... [HOW TO...again !]

Yes, but he has to change the level for his own mix on the babyface.
You can remote control the Babface via totalmix running on iPad
And on your Mac you can remote control levels on Babyface via Gig Performer and OSC

Endless possibilities

Yes but I don’t have an Ipad and he doesn’t have one also

As a musician not having an iPad is like not having a permanent address

To be more serious: Gig Performer, Mac, iPad, decent Audio Interface
That is a perfect solution.

Another alternative could be this:

…or when your Drummer has a Midi Controller it should be possible to use that to control levels in Total Mix.

Maybe for christmas ;)))
But I have my gig tomorrow and I don’t know what to do !!

So the remaing issue is that the drummer wants to adjust the level of the SPD only for his monitoring and not for the audience?

I think he needs both

And when you adjust your levels in the soundcheck?
Why is it necessary to adjust levels during the gig?

I guess it will be ok for the audience, especially since there will be normally a sound guy !

Ok, and in my gigs when the monitor level is ok I never have to adjust levels
When my collegues do not jump in levels.

Okki :))
So what about his monitoring ?

And what about this AUDIO IN thing on the SPD ?
It could be handy to just send him my click track in his AUDIO IN

Ok and how do you hear the SPD?

You have to get signals from the SPD and send signals to the SPD (your sounds and klick)
And when he raises the level of the SPD you get the louder level?

Sounds like it is very dangerous that you create feedback loops or the SPD is so loud that you cannot hear your sounds anymore or you raise the level in Gig Performer and the drummer does not hear it’s SPD.

You will fight with levels on stage: One wins and the other is the looser.

I have no sound coming out of Ableton Live.
Only the click track.
My idea is that I can feed him this click track threw the Audio In of the SPD.
And that’s all ?

Sure, you can route the click from Ableton Live to the output 3/4 of your Babyface

If i route the click from Ableton click track to the output 3/4 my Babyface and then to the audio in of the SPD, do you know if this work ?

Should work

I hope the Audio iN of SPD is not only for sampling purposes !

We have no idea if this will work. The audio in of the SPD looks like a standard audio in and can accept Line and Mic levels, but what the SPD’s internal engine does with the input signal - we cannot know.

If it goes back out to the main outputs your audience will hear your click.

According to this if you select PHONES this will go into phones only… but I’m not sure

Yes - looks like that should work just fine.
