Rig Manager Emergency

So I have a gig in a few days - turns out the Keytar doesn’t have enough power to transmit a widi signal effectively - I have been programming everything to be on the keytar as my top controller and then use it remotely -

I swapped it out with the Keyla 61 - works fine and I won’t be using the keytar anytime soon (may have to sell them and get a newer one that transmits power better)

here is my question - How can I use Rig manger to map all the keytar its pitch and modulation wheel AND most importantly get the keys and octave lower when I play so I can hit the high E (I run out on the 61 key controller)

thanks

of course I could just take the keylab 61 and set it an octave lower for the gig… but I feel like I should know how to best handle the rig swap

I will go back to the keytar as my secondary once Im up and running

Now it is little bit late.
Define midi control aliases and use that to midi map widgets.
Define different rigs in rig manager and you are ready to go.

So I should go back to my Keytar set up and take the widibud - define it as an alias - and then change all of my mappings over to the alias in my gig file

then I can use that to switch to any hardwired one (using the rig manager) yes?

Yes, should work.

So I created the Alias now called Widi Bud - when I go to the gig file - they are all now saying widi bud.

what’s next?

Pleas upload a screenshot of your rig manager window

Have you read the documentation and/or watch the videos that explain how to use the Rig Manager?

I have - saw the 4 min one and read the documentation. No time to be an expert - rehearsal is tomorrow night. Just want to get this situation working.

It is not the main question here, but while I use WiDi at home and for rehearsal, on stage I would rather use this:

Im bagging Widi for live - too bad it worked all last year no issue - now its freezing and I can’t afford issues.

So Rig manager - I think this worked - but Im wondering do I need Pedal Sustain? its assigned as part of the 88 key controller anyway

Here is the problem with this move - now I have control on the 61 key - but lost the widi bud for the one remote keyboard my band mates use (not a big deal if it freezes for them as I can hit panic and its usually one note)

Rename the new midi device alias to a general name and assign the physical midi device.
Then in the wiring view use that logical midi in.
Now you can create an additional rig and assign the other connected midi device.
So this way you can switch the rig.
Or you stay with 1 rig and just assign the available physical MIDI device.

I think I did the second thing - but that won’t get me separation for the widi -

With rig manager I would define midi control aliases for all used midi messages mapped to widgets

Makes sense except when widi has 2 keys hooked up to it. Can’t separate them as it is the same midi signal. Only way to separate them is channels.

Is there a way to assign the Widi Bud input to the wired 61 and Keep the widi bud signal coming from the Keylab mini?

Sounds you designed it not optimal.
And to be honest I do not get the issue.
And to change the system 1 day before a rehearsal, I would not do that.

Maybe you could upload a diagram showing your midi controllersandhow they are connected to GP
