Plugins seems to be being bypassed

Hello everyone, I’m new here, so I hope this is the right place to post this. I need some help getting my plugin to work. I’m using Gig Performer solely to add audio effects to live vocals. Currently, I’m just trying to make the Antares Auto-Tune Artist plugin work.

My vocals are registering in Gig Performer as well as in Antares Auto-Tune. I’m also hearing my voice come out of the PA; however, no effects are being applied to the vocals. I’m only hearing unprocessed vocals. I added the plugin to the Wiring page and connected it accordingly: input to plugin, plugin to output channels 1 and 2. The plugin is not being bypassed. I don’t see the plugin when I look at the Global Wiring—I’m not sure if that makes a difference. Lastly, I wanted to mention that effects like reverb and delay were added to my vocals when I used the rackspace vocal presets.

Current hardware setup:
Mic (Shure SM58) plugged into my audio interface (Arturia MiniFuse 2) via XLR. The audio interface is then connected to my PC via USB. It outputs to a Yamaha MG06X mixer via two TRS cables, which then outputs to a PA speaker (Alto 310) via XLR.

Could you post a screenshot?

What version of GP are you using and on what OS/version?

The version is 5.1.1 running on Windows

Some things to check

  1. On the bottom left, there are little numbers that light up when audio arrives. Is channel 1 flashing when you speak or sing?
  2. When you send audio in, does the blue line from the audio input to the Antares plugin change color temporarily?
  3. Do the output wires from Antares to the audio output flash when you speak or sing?
  4. Is it possible that your audio interface is routing input directly to output (for monitoring purposes)? Quite a few interfaces do that by default unless you turn it off – that would cause you to hear your input directly

If you use the microphone, do the wires ‘light up’ in GP?

A thing to check: some audio interfaces have the possibility of ‘direct monitoring’ or ‘zero latency monitoring’. That means int the interface internally the inputs and outputs are connected. If you can hear the microphone even without having the interface connected to your computer, then that’s a reason for some of your issues.

Edit: @dhj was faster :scream:. Sorry

If you’re on Mac, you could also have forgotten to grant GP access to your microphone

I appreciate your response!!

The little numbers on the bottom light up when I speak as well as all the wires. The pitch correction Plugin is also registering what key im singing in.

Lastly, I’ve looked into my audio interface ( Arturia - MiniFuse 2) and read the manual again. Software wise I don’t see that the audio interface is routing directly to the output. On the audio interface box itself there’s a “monitor” knob as well as a “mix” knob. The “mix” knob is turned all the way over to USB. The “monitor” knob, I believe controls the volume outputting from the TRS cables.

Yes, all the wires light up.

I have a question regarding the audio interface’s zero latency mode. If everything is plugged in hardware-wise, I shouldn’t be able to hear anything coming out of the PA speaker when I speak into the mic unless it’s wired through GP, right?

Should I post a screenshot from the global rackspace?

The global rackspace is not involved in this

What did you mean by that. Are those effects within the Antares plugin?

No. They’re just preset effects within the default vocal rackspace.

Got it. I’ll keep playing with things until I find the issue. I’ll report back if I ever figure it out.

Now that I’m not a new user I’m uploading my wiring as well my audio settings. I’ve tried other plugins and none of the work. In the one screenshot you can see Antares at least registering my note.

Indeed. Did you check that?

After that, the other way around you can also check: have GP running, test the mic, then disconnect the wires in GP. After that you shouldn’t hear anything coming from the speakers. Then you know for sure that the audio is routed through GP (or not)

Are you listening to the HP outs or to the main out of the Minifuse 2?

If HP, turn the Monitor knob to USB

Have you checked the monitoring settings in Minifuse Control Center? Make sure that only the USB signal gets mixed to the physical outputs

If other plugins are working in that rackspace (reverb and delay), I wonder if it’s some setting within the Antares plugin?

Where are the plugins for reverb and delay? I don’t see them in the rackspace.

Maybe this is the issue! Without even opening up gig performer I can speak into the mic and hear myself in the PA. I’ve looked through windows settings and don’t think I see a problem.
