Play wav from beginning when entering sound part

Hello, a beginner’s question that I’m stuck on.

The task: I want to play wav files for individual song parts. They should always start from the beginning, i.e. if I jump back to a song part, for example, and then activate the part where the wav should be played, it should start at the beginning.

How I have proceeded so far:

  • Audio file widget created in the Wiring and connected to the audio output

  • Audio files loaded into the lanes

  • A button connected to the audio player in the edit for each lane to switch on the correct lane

  • A play/stop and a “Play from Begin” button connected to the player in the edit

When I am in the panel view, everything works fine. But in the setlist I can’t get this to work in a song part. I have the feeling that I only get the play-from-begin started with an active click, but not as part of a rack variation or a snapshot. Where am I going wrong here or is there a better way to achieve the task?

Help me, do you mean Audio File Player?

Yes, exactly

Create a widget and map is to Audio File Player - Play from beginning.
Give two the OSC/GPScript Handle PLAYER !

In the song part properties add an action to set the widget to the value 100.
This way when you activate that song part the player is started from the beginning.

Look great. I’ll try it as soon as I’m at home

Hi, tried it and it starts the files fine. But now I have the problem, that the files should stop, when I reach the next song part. The strange thing is, that they sometimes stop and sometimes on other positions not. I don’t have a clue, why.

OK, now when you switch to a song part the selected Lane starts playing.
The previous Lane playing is stopped.

What should be stopped now?

How is the setup of your Audio File Player?
Did you check “Single”?

Can you upload a short gig file, so I could check the issue?

Ha, could be a typical case of “have you turned it off and on again”. After a new start of Gigperformer the files start an stop as they should do. I’ll take further a look on it, but I hope, that the problems is solved :-). Thanks a lot for the great and fast help
