Im sure i read the answer to this somewhere, but cant find it.
On my Mac i seem to have multiple entries for most of my VST3 plugins. clicking on either copy opens the same plugin, so i don’t have multiple VST’s installed. I also have VST and Au’s listed, but not duplicates of those.
ive rescanned all the pluggins but there still show pu in the manager.
Is this normal? .
Did you remove them from the plugin manager before rescanning?
Also, is it possible that you have some same plugins installed in both system and user locations, e.g.
Under /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST and under
~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST
for example?
Thanks David.
No, I didn’t remove them first, I just did a full rescan.
I have checked and they are only installed in one place. If I right click on them and choose open location both will open to the same file.
EDIT: to be clear, I meant one place as per your locations above, there is an Arturia folder which also has them but GP isn’t scanning that one.
I tried again but this time took everything out of the list, closed GP, re started and did the scan again. This time i have just the single instances . I also checked that GP was only scanning one VST3 and one VST location, which is was as i originally set it up to do.
Thanks again, all sorted.
