Mac Tahoe 27 and Glitching .... a fix

Hey all !

Posting this as it may help others.

I went to Tahoe 27 on Day 1 and noticed some [not all] of my Motu M2 GP 5.3.3 projects on my M4 were exhibiting some minor / random glitching / crackle etc… for the first time.

Please IGNORE this if you are not affected by this.

Did a bit of hunting around and found a quick 2 step fix.

-> re-install the MOTU [or your driver] - reboot

-> go to Terminal and run " sudo renice -20 $(pgrep coreaudiod) " … this will increase the Priority of CoreAudio - reboot

Hope this helps

Alex I.

Do you mean Golden Gate? I thought Tahoe was only on 26.7

I am pretty certain that applying renice does not survive a reboot.

Tahoe 27 is Golden Gate

You’re right it doesn’t survive the re-boot so I suspect all it really needed was a Motu driver re-install as its now still fine after a few re-boots

Why is Apple calling it Golden Gate?

Apple has always used famous landmarks in California to name its OS

Yeah, that’s what I suspected and it’s great to get a report that GP is working on Golden Gate as we have not yet formally tested that configuration.

Yeah. I was questioning why the guy said it’s Tahoe 27 if Apple call it Golden Gate.

Probably habit. Personally I can’t remember all 5ose. Ames so I just use macOS 10.14 or 15.1, etc.

Just a minor point.

Mac OS 27 -is- named “Golden Gate” … they are one and the same thing

Yep, thats what I thought.
