Hello I just got the kontact 8 and the willow and nightshade packs and when I have them open in gp they wont pass signal through. I opened multiple instances and other kontact libraries work as normal. Anyone know of a setting im missing? Ty
I just tried both Scene:Nightshade and Scene:Willow after updating Kontakt 8 to v8.8.0. Both worked fine in GP. I’m on Win11 Pro.
FWIW. I always forget to change the Kontakt midi channel to Omni. (Since I often do not use channel 1 in my Midi in block).
Sorry if this is rudimentary, but here are other things I troubleshoot when I get no sound from a particular plugin:
Are the proper cables lighting up to show signal going through.
Did I connect to audio out?
What happens when I trigger the plugin using its internal (virtual) keyboard?
Is there a difference when I try to trigger it in the wire view rather than in panel or song part view.
Does it show midi signal going through?
If there is a mixer, does that show audio signal going through.
There are probably a bunch more. (I make some type of error causing “no sound” pretty often. Hah!).

Yes everything lights up and works as it should. I grouped the multiple instances of kontact and all lit except the 4 scene ones. Its strange ill keep trying
What didn’t light? What is not getting through, midi or audio?
I open kontact load any other preset but the 4 scenes ones all paths light normally along the whole path to the output. If i load willow for example the wires from the midi to kontact light but it stops there and the signal disent pass through the kontact block. Is there an add video option on here? Ty
What happens if you try to trigger the sound by using Kontakt’s virtual keyboard? (Try it on the full range of the virtual keyboard)
Then there’s something not properly configured in Kontakt, it’s certainly not a GP isse - have you asked about those libraries on the Kontakt forums?
I haven’t i thought with the amount of synth players here it might of been something simple. Ill figure it out eventually lol
No matter what I try I cant get it to work. If I press the key it lights the midi cable but not the through cable. If I mouse click the on screen key it lights the through wire but wont go through by just hitting the keyboard. The other syth vsts all work fine and kontact did before I upgraded.
Did you try the Kontakt virtual keyboard yet?
What midi channel is your Midi In Block set to?
Is the midi in block blocking/filtering anything?
It shows the sample library all loaded up?
Did you try every key (from top to bottom)?
Omni currently. And yes to the rest. Like I said if I load any other kontact library it works. Just the 4 scene ones are the issue. The wiring is fine I have 50 synth vsts and they all work normally. Once I switch kontact to nightshade the signal stops at the kontackt plugin when i hit my midi keyboard. If I hit the keyboard in the plugin it lights from the plugin on as normal. If I go in kontackt and switch to something else it works. Im stumped
So, if you hit the key using the virtual keyboard in Kontakt, do you hear it?
What about if you use the virtual keyboard in the midi in block?
Updated kontact and its working now but I honestly think my keyboard had its transpose button dropped like 5 steps without me knowing..I let my kid play it it happens..once I set it to 0 it worked. Ty for helping
