So I’m getting into controlling multiple parameters from one widget, by linking widgets together in groups.
However, I don’t need to see more than one of these widgets on the rack, so I’m hiding the rest of them. But this still makes for a really cluttered rack when editing, so what I would love to do is to put all these linked, hidden widgets on a separate rack panel, and then set the entire panel to be hidden. Wouldn’t that be a neat feature?
Just as a visual aid, I moved all my linked controls to a separate panel, where they can stay nice and organized for editing purposes, but when I go to “play mode” (or whatever it’s called), it will be hidden and not take up any visual space at all.
I understand that suggestion.
What should happen when you have 3 panels and the 2nd should be hidden?
Just show panel 1 and panel 3 as if they where 2?
I see suggestions in other threads about just having all the hidden controls in a panel at the bottom of the rack, and then just don’t scroll down there. Problem is that this won’t work for the global rackspace, because the global rackspace view expands based on the number of panels that are active in the global rack, and can’t be resized (as far as I can tell)
Also, sorry for making a new thread about an obiously previously discussed topic; I totally forgot to search the forum first
I could imagine that a panel won’t be completely hidden but rather “collapsed” so that there would be only a bar left which would carry a small symbol (arrow, triangle,…) to expand it again.
That way it could be sitting anywhere, also between other panels.
Yup asked for this too, also to be able to set panel visibility state on songs / racks. so you could collapse unused panels not needed for songs / songparts
This would be perfect for an Action.
As an alternative an “Edit mode Panel” visable only in edit mode like the global panel would be a half way to do this, used only for information flow IE works But not visible in play mode.
I do a lot of midi routing and widget groups / radio groups connected to widget which are controlled from pads on midi keyboard and foot controllers. they take rack space when hidden even though they serve no UI function.
If you could give each panel an ID then control the visibility from the usual sources script, widgets, actions etc would be great.
