Is there a way to have GP as a slave to my auduio interface’s midi clock without using ableton link?
This blog post should help.
I was not able to achieve it. I am tryingbto send midi clock messages from my adudio unterface but it’s not lit green in Rig Menager. It triggers the play button so it does send MIDI messages but not the clock. Any idea why would that be?
I’m not aware of audio interfaces that generate MIDI clock. What is the interface, what is your platform (Win/ Mac),
I’m on mac and using iconnectivity audio 4c. MIDI clock does work with DAW’s but not with GP.
How are you sending the MIDI Clock messages into GP?
I’m not. I followed the video but the option to do it in Rig Menager isn’t there. It only blinks green when I press play on my ipad. It does trigger play in GP.(ipad send messages to the audio interface ,which then sends it to macbook,it does work with DAW’s)
Well, it certainly won’t work if you don’t send it in
Which video? What version of GP?
It should be there
The option to "respond to midi clock " is not available for me and the channel that it shoul be coming from is not lit green. It flashes green when i press play on my ipad but that’s it.
The Midi messages are sent from my audio interface.
GP reads the midi sent from it except for the midi clock.
Could you post a screenshot of your rig- manager with the menu visible for the device from which you expect MIDI clock coming in? Just for clarity.
It’s coming from usb2 port of my audio interface (iconnectivity audio4c). I’m not by my laptop now,but will send a screenshot whenever I can.
Did you create an alias for that audio interface MIDI port in Rig Manager?
Awwww, that might be the thing. It wasn’t shown in the video. How do I do that?
Per my previous post – which video?
Didn’t know I gotta do that. Thanks. Will get to it tomorrow.
Don’t forget to enable MIDI clock in the rackspace properties dialog!
The process is briefly described in the video here, but the actual alias creation step isn’t there.(it was already created)
That was the first thing I did actually. Thanks.
