Display patch name from HX Stomp in a GP Rack

Hello! I’m considering racking the HX Stomp I use when playing bass live. Doing so would mean that the device is essentially inaccessible, and while I can already control it through Gig Performer using Program and Control Change messages, I’d like to also display the Stomp’s current patch name in a GP rack. Obviously this would be dynamic data pushed from the Stomp into Gig Performer.

I am very new to GP, so any thoughts on how to achieve this would be appreciated. I expect a script would be needed, but that’s an assumption based on limited experience.

The HX Stomp would have to be able to send that information to GP. Can it?

I don’t know, but will connect with Line 6 support and find out. Nothing I’ve read in any support documentation clarifies one way or the other.

I strongly doubt the stomp will be able to send a patch name.

If you’re introducing GP into your setup, then I would go the other direction and have everything driven from GP. So, have all your names in GP (rackspace/variation or song/part names), and then send PC messages to the stomp to change its patches.
