Crashes on Mac OS Tahoe 26.5.2

Seeing GP 5.2.2 crashing frequently on Macbook Pro4 (48GB), Mac OS Tahoe.

Examples:

  1. when using Audio Streaming Player in secondary instance (with Bluetooth as output device) - saw the primary instance (with Motu M2 as output device) crash. Have seen this occur multiple times.
  2. experimented moving Audio Streaming Player in Global rack space of primary instance - and routing its output to Bluetooth device in Aggregate device (rest of the rackspaces use Motu M2 as output in Aggregate device). Still observed the crash.

Not sure if above is related to Audio Streaming Player. Have attached 3 crash reports. Need help understanding the source of the crash.

Thanks in advance.

We’ll have to look into this but there are numerous reports about issues with audio on some versions of Tahoe.

Also, the system profile that accompanied those crash reports has an interesting item in it:

Bluetooth: Version (null), 0 services, 0 devices, 0 incoming serial ports

So I don’t know what that means.

If you REMOVE the bluetooth completely from your setup, do you still get crashes?

I will give it a try and keep you guys posted.

Use case: Motu M2 has only one output channel (for both the main and headphones). I wanted to create two outputs: one where I send instruments output (for the main mix) and other output channel (bluetooth) where I send the rhythm beats (this is for my local beat reference).

Appreciate that.

Hi

Another crash today - even when using single instance and without using Streaming Audio Player.

Audio interface: Motu M2

Would really appreciate if you can take a look and let me know if it is some plugin.

(Not sure if this is related / coincidence - but over the weekend I added Pocket Strings, Soft Piano plugins from Crow Hill - based on YouTube video from Marty Wade).

This is very strange – it seems that GP is crashing just delivering a regular GUI message.

I wonder if this is a problem with that version of Tahoe?

What were you actually doing when it crashed?

@hdyamff
Are you able to reproduce the crash?

This happened suddenly while I was practicing a music piece (which involves changing rackspaces for different sounds).

Maybe it’s due toTahoe version 26.5.2. Have also shared crash report with Apple (obviously with no response, yet).

Will send crash report if it happens again.

Thanks & Regards
